Another weekend out visiting somewhere different, Shoaxing not far from Hangzhou! But i'll start with Friday!
We was at the company, again Friday but heading back over to Ningbo in the evening, because we had to go this little city called Shoaxing, with our school for the graduating students fashion show! A class from our school visited the company, Friday morning! So luckily for us, Miss Guo said we should go back with them as it is easier for the company, and the class was also visiting some fabric markets!!! There was a little confusion at first because Mr Chen didn't want us to go so earlier, w had only been in the office for 2 hours, so it was a case of he said no and Miss Guo said yes we were to go! Anyway we ended up leaving with the class and Joseph the head designer, to go the fabric markets and then back to Ningbo!!
The fabric market was massive and so so much cheaper than in England!! I got a couple of samples, Joseph also said if we needed any fabrics sending over for next year at uni, he would do it for us!! He is very sweet!!
So anyway we got back to Ningbo about 6pm, amazing considering we only normally get back around at 9-10pm!! Me Becca, Emma and Caroline went to the third floor, where we found out the restaurant we go to like nearly everyday does sweet and sour chicken! I can not believe that after 5 weeks of being out here we have only just found it, and it was pretty damn good too! Actually nicer than back home! The first thing I can say is nicer than english chinese food!!
Saturday Morning.... pretty early start 7am, we have to meet Jasmine and Tong Tong at 8.30am to get over to Shaoxing! When we arrived Jasmine had meetings pretty much all day to arrange the Fashion Show on Sunday, so it was just us lot and Tong Tong, we went to another fabric market got lots of samples of cute fabrics, some of the people were a little rude though!! One woman tried to take my money off me for some fabric, and told me I had to come back for the fabric the day after... yeah right!!
After the fabric markets, we went to the ancient town of Shoaxing, soooo cute!! Just houses along the side of the river, we took a rowing boat by this cute old man, to see the majority of it! The houses were really small, and had no toilets inside just publics ones, they were pretty grim, me and Becca decided to brave them, like a million flies around the hole in the floor, and i'm pretty sure it had everyone else's business in the hole.... no flushing systems!! Tong Tong told us, these houses were not very good because the people that lived there, had no jobs and they were probably houses that were passed on from parents so they didn't pay anything to live there! I could see why they were free, but I would defo live in one, aslong as it had a toilet, they were just so cute next to the river!!

We had to have dinner with Jasmine and the other teachers from the school!! They had already ordered food when we got there and it wasn't very nice to say the least, pigs trotters and fish!! Not mu cup of tea anyway! I was very happy when some beef and egg friend rice arrived!!
After dinner, we wanted to go somewhere for a drink, Becca and Laura said they had been told by a taxi driver there was bar just around the corner from our hotel! When we arrived, there was a bloody S&M party taking place!! Wonderful, just what I came to China for! However when we got in it was that bad, it was more like a show, singers and some bar man juggled with fire bottles, there was only a bit of raunchy dancing! The music was good though! And Tong Tong seemed to enjoy herself! She was proper going for it, beer drinking and dancing like a crazy woman! We left around 12am, as we had another early start for the Fashion Show!!
So Sunday the Fashion Show day, I was excited to see what they had to show and what it would be like, I didn't think it would be very good! But I was surprised at how bad it was, the fashion isn't very good over here, everything resembled clothes in England fro back in the 90's!! A few AX Paris specials thrown in for good measure! They have no attention to detail and no care for presentation, the models had no sensible underwear on, for the clothes they were wearing, plasters on legs, zips not done up and clothes that needed steaming! Just not how you would want your final collection to be shown!! We watched our schools and then a few company's had their own fashion shows, but it was all pretty bad!! After a couple of hours, we left back for Ningbo!
I think we maybe got back around 5pm, me, Emma, Becca and Caroline, went to the canteen for the new dish we found, sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice!!
Also Jasmine told us, we didn't need to teach anymore so we had more time to prepare for our final evaluation we have to give the school on the Monday before we leave, I think its the 14th or something! I am glad I don't have class now on Monday and Tuesday but I will be a little sad to say good bye to my Monday class especially! Amy, my teacher has been so nice, and I have been with this class since the beginning, so I think it will be a little emosh!!
