Sunday Morning.... 7am start!!! Grim!!
The weather wasn't the best, it was stupidly warm but really damp and wet! We set off for Peoples Square, we wanted to see if we could see anyone doing a morning routine, but my the time we got there, there was only 2 men doing, I think one was teaching the other!! We had a Starbucks coffee and breakfast, I had a Caramel Macchiato and a ham and cheese melt! We left Starbucks and then the rain started... So we decided to change the plan round that Jeremy had done for us!! And go SHOPPING instead!! Oh my and did we shop, like nearly 10 hours of shopping in one day was a bit of a killer!! We did some market style places called, Nanjing West Road and then on to Pearl Markets, which was rubbish! Nanjing West road was loads better! And then on to like the high street of Shanghai, so like Zara and the flagship H&M store! Got some cute stuff though!! Few presents bought and another different experience! I was after a pair of shoes, as the ones I have brought I hate, but my god it is hard work finding nice shoes in China, they have the most random styles of shoes! I hunted all day and eventually gave up!! I will find a pair somewhere, whether I have to order the chinese version of ebay!
Oh yes also, if you don't like bartering, don't come to China, they give you the most ridiculous prices for stuff, everything is always 'Real' leather! Defo's not real leather! Not much else to say about shopping other than I loved it!!!
For lunch I had a bacon and cheese on toast from my favourite bakery, 85o! It was more like a pizza bread than actually breakfast but still really nice!
After shopping it was like 7pm and a quick dash back to the hotel, change and back out for dinner! We went to a Japanese Tepanyaki Restaurant, all you can eat and drink for 180rmb! At first I was little worried I wouldn't like much of the food, a lot of fish flying around, and I was a little put off that its all cooked on the same grill thing, but I was pleasantly surpised and the food was actually really nice!! We had dinner with Jeremy, his friends Sarah and Josh. Tong Tong came also, which I was happy about because she had gone home earlier in the day, she doesn't like shopping, (weird) and to be dragged around shops for 6 hours was a little too much for her, she needed to 'rest'! Anyway after lots of food, and beer, and some Japanese rice wine called Saki, this is served hot and like in shot form, it was rank, but they do something called SakiBomb. Basically you rest your shot glass of Saki on chopsticks on your glass of Ting Tao and bang on the table till it falls in and then its 'bottoms up'!! I only did one it was horrid!!
When we left the Tepanyaki Restaurant, we went up to a bar called Craft, a quirky bar above the restaurant, which turned out to bea gay bar, me and emma left early as we was both very tired and I wasn't feeling very well! Tong Tong came back with us too! We left the others to carry on drinking, but me and hangover a mixes very badly, so I was glad of the sleep!!
