Tuesday, Last day in Shanghai

OK, so Tuesday was our last day in Shanghai and there was a lot to do I think!! Although i didn’t have an early start like the others, I was treated to a bit of a lie in! well 8am!! I heard Emma leave around 7.15. Becca, Laura and Emma went off to go up The Oriental Pearl Tower! I wasn’t going up because I don’t like heights and Caroline, well I think she just wanted to shop with me!! 

We went to a market the Canadian lady told us about and it was bloody rubbish! We just got followed by like million men asking them to go to their shops, which Tong Tong told us they probably didn’t have shops, so that was a big no no!! Caroline was so funny, she kept getting so angry with them, I couldn’t help but laugh!! She also bought some bloody trolley thing, like what old people push around with the shopping in, just without the basket!, why she bought this first thing I will never know, we had it behind her the rest of the day! I think I actually got bruises from her banging it into my shins!!

 After about 15 minutes we gave up and left! Back to Nanjing West Road for some more serious shopping!! We managed to get some really good bargains!! I think Tong Tong was impressed with our bartering skills! I think me and Caroline handled it really well!!! Oh and we taught Tong Tong to say bloody nuisance to all the men that kept following us!

After this we met with the other girls at Yu Gardens, but it was bloody choka block!!! Oh my god you couldn’t move for tourists, not english tourists though, just Chinese tourists, I still find it really strange how big China actually is, and that the majority of the people in Shanghai had never been, even though they live in China!! We lasted about 10 mins before we caved and went for a maccies!!! Chicken Nuggets and Chips!

Becca ruined her birthday surprise present, we had planned to buy her a silver Buddha for her 21st birthday, but on seeing one she wanted and nearly buying it, Laura and Emma decided they had to tell her the plan! She is a nuisance!! But at least we got her one she loved!!!

We left Yu Gardens and jumped in a taxi to XinTanDi, which is the first major revamp area of Shanghai, it looked so pretty, but also very posh!! Me, Caroline and Tong Tong got in one taxi, and what a choice we made, so what should of been a 10 minute taxi ride, turned in to 40 mins! New taxi driver! And shit, this is not the best thing to happen when you are desperate for the toilet!! Luckily he gave us a discount, as the taxi was 50rmb, defo’s weren’t paying that because he got lost!! 

Starbucks!!!! Caramel Macchiato and New York Cheesecake, for an afternoon snack and a toilet break!! In Starbucks I was feeling very tired, and to be honest ready to get back to Ningbo, I don’t think the fact that I had to be back on the bus to Hangzhou at 7am, was helping, as the bus back from Shanghai wasn’t till 8.40pm! So it would be a 1am get in and a 5am get up! Defo wasn’t feeling that! I think Caroline was feeling the same, so we decided we would go to the coach station to try and get an earlier bus, in the end Emma and Tong Tong wanted to come back with us too! Laura and Becca were ok, they had a list of stuff they wanted to see, like the art museum, and The Bund at night!

So we decided to head back and hope we could get a bus back!! Luckily we did, and we managed to change our tickets from 8.40pm to 5.30! Loads better, was back in the dorm for half 9! Perfect time to unpack, shower and chill with a beer!!

On the way back, a chinese lady phoned me and apparently wants me to model again for a book they want to get published!! Hopefully I will get paid for it, I ain’t doing it for free, no way its on Monday my only lie in!! Also Jasmine phoned Tong Tong on the way back, to see if we wanted to go to a place called Shouxing, on Saturday, near Hangzhou to see the Fabric Markets and watch the college’s Fashion show! We will be staying over the Saturday night and watch the show, on the Sunday!! I am looking forward to going but I don’t want to be back late on Sunday, as I have 3 classes to prepare for, as well as the work for Uni, oh and sort our travel plans out and get them booked!!! Oh crap!! Defo a feeling of so much to do, so little time to do it!!

So that was all for Tuesday really, just was felling very tired and desperate for my bed, but not before the Only way is Essex catch up!! I don’t want to miss anything, every time I go on Facebook, someone has wrote something that has happened, and ruins it for me!!
