Day 2.... chicken and chips!!

Had a pretty amazing second day in Ningbo!! Found some english food, popcorn chicken and chips!! finally felt full for the first time since getting here! and all for the cost of £1!!! had an amazing tea, beef in blackbean and green pepper, egg fried rice and chinese beer, another bargain of £1.90! So so so happy i know i will be eating at least something whilst im here!

After lunch we went on a trip with the class from the fashion college to a company called joyous garments, looked at the pattern making and cutting process, production, packaging and samples rooms! Very interesting to see how these companies actually work, and how our garments back home are actually made! and no before you ask it wasn't a sweat shop! although i imagine the jobs in the production room are very boring, they can be doing the same job forever, sewing a sleeve or inserting a zip over and over again! We then went back to Jasmines office to discuss some part time jobs we will be doing whilst over here! Drank so much chinese tea, which is a pretty good cuppa! Will definitely be investing in this to bring home! Puts PG Tips to shame!

I am going to be teaching children twice a week for 2 hours, a tuesday evening I will have 3 children from 6pm till 8pm and 4 children on a Sunday morning 9am -11am, as well as my placement in Hangzhou and my fashion buying class on a Monday, so pretty busy schedule but I will be getting paid to teach these classes, which will help with out travel plans which will be a good thing!

Tong Tong took us to her english class in the english school in Ningbo, to be stared at with the greetings of 'oooooooohh' and 'ahhhhhhhhh' is a pretty strange feeling, but at the same time quite interesting, the students in the english class were given the opportunity to ask us any questions, Chris (chinese name i am unsure off) was the first to ask, luckily we had been prepared for what sort of questions we would be asked,  'are you looking for a chinese husband?' was expected and quickly brushed off! After this Tong Tong told the students that we would be going to a bar called office bar, in yan wang tang (english area) and they were all welcome to join us, which half of them did, which was really nice! we have been promised to be taken to some clubs!

The strangest thing is happening, as we are having more and more conversations with chinese people and friends, and we are having to slow our words right down so they can understand us, this way of speaking is starting to stick, we are finding ourselves speaking to each other more and more in this way!! This must stop now!

A bit of a crazy day but I am enjoying my time so far in Ningbo, and just getting more and more excited about the next coming weeks and the more experiences I am going to have!
